Causes of “MMS Won’t Download” and how to fix it. There are two major reasons why your MMS won’t download: one is a setting enabled by default on your default messenger, and the other is because of interfering apps on your phone. On the images that weren’t showing, I right clicked and did a save image as to see that they were all.jpg images. When I continued to scroll through the posts, some of the images did show, right-clicking on these revealed that they were.png images. So, I think there is an issue with Facebook displaying JPEGs in the timeline on Safari, on a Mac.

Can’t receive MMS fix #1: Confirm mobile data is ON
If your Galaxy S10 can’t receive MMS, the very first thing that you need to check is to ensure that mobile data is on. MMS, unlike regular texts or SMS, requires cellular data in order to work. If you are on a limited mobile data subscription and your MMS suddenly stops working, it’s probably due to mobile data being suspended. Check with your carrier to confirm this. Unless explicitly stated by your carrier, MMS does not work on wifi. Don’t expect that you can continue sending or receiving MMS if you’re on wifi connection at all.

- Paired Bluetooth devices will be deleted.
- Background data sync settings will be turned on.
- Data restrictive settings in applications that were manually turned on/off by the customer will be reset to the default setting.
- Network selection mode will be set to automatic.
To perform a Network reset, follow these steps.
- Open Settings app.

There are a lot of good and reliable messaging app from the Play Store. Using Google’s own Android Messages is a good one to try out first.
In order to load apps quickly, Android stores frequently used items like website links, images, videos, ads, among others in a part in internal storage called cache partition. Sometimes, these items collectively called system cache may get outdated or corrupted causing performance problems or bugs. To ensure that you phone runs efficiently and the cache in top shape, you want to regularly clear the cache partition (about once every few months). When dealing with any app issue, this can also be one of the troubleshooting steps. Here’s how to do it:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe cache partition’.
- Press Power button to select.
- Press the Volume down key until ‘yes’ is highlighted and press the Power button.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.

A reader, Sherrie asks, asks…
“I have tracfone services. Yesterday I have transfered my number to a different phone, an iPhone 4. Every since then I am not receiving any pictures and any pics I send are not going thru. My phone says sent but they never receive it. I am able to get pics I send myself but nothing from anyone else. No one at tracfone is able to help. They all say there is nothing wrong with anything, that there is somthing wrong with everybody else’s phone I have tried exchanging photos with.. but I never had any problem until I switched to a different phone. Thank you for any advise you could give me.”

Hi Sherrie,
So if I understand correctly, you transferred your existing Tracfone service to an iPhone 4 using Tracfone’s Bring Your Own Phone Plan and now your MMS picture messages are not working.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how to fix it but I will offer some suggestions.
In order for your cellular data, MMS picture messages, and group texts to work, your phone needs to have tracfone’s APN settings set up in your phone. This is supposed to happen automatically but sometimes there is a problem. And to make it worse, since your phone is supposed to set this up automatically, the settings page on your iPhone is hidden.
If I were you, here is what I’d try. Tap Settings->Messages and turn off iMessage if it is enabled. Then test sending and receiving messages again. You should also take a look at Understanding the Difference between MMS and iMessage on Your iPhone
If that doesn’t work then try this: Resetting Network Settings on Your iPhone
